In May, UNITE-LA's Policy team supported a Regional Economic Association Leaders of California (R.E.A.L.) Education & Workforce Development Committee meeting. R.E.A.L. is a statewide group made up of 19 of California's most influential business associations. This meeting featured Ben Chida, Chief Deputy Cabinet Secretary, Office of Gov. Gavin Newsom.
The R.E.A.L. board approved all UNITE-LA letters for AB1746 (Cal Grant Reform Act); Calbright College support, SB 976 (Universal Preschool Act) and the Coalition Budget Letter.
