UNITE-LA Today: UNITE-LA Awarded Its First Federal Grant

The Biden-Harris Administration announced $2,000,000 to support four years of work by UNITE-LA’s Los Angeles Regional Cleantech Career Academy (Academy), given during a round of the competitive Building Pathways to Infrastructure Jobs Program.

Through programs like Building Pathways to Infrastructure Jobs, the U.S. Department of Labor selects public-private partnerships that prepare workers for good-paying jobs created as a result of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The Academy is a first-of-its-kind program that connects students from historically marginalized communities with paid, educational opportunities and work experience in the ever-growing cleantech industry. It is funded by generous support from employer, foundation and government partners. In addition to funding, partners provide input and collaboration, resources, on-the-job training and job placement opportunities. Read the full DOL release here.
