In August, UNITE-LA had the privilege of co-hosting a webinar with the National Association of Women Business Owners – Los Angeles (NAWBO-LA), highlighting the critical intersection of child care policies and women-owned small businesses.

The event was expertly moderated by UNITE-LA’s Sonia Campos-Rivera, senior vice president of Education Policy & Public Affairs, and featured insightful presentations from Whitney T. Pesek, director of Federal Child Care Policy at the National Women’s Law Center, and Donna Sneeringer, chief strategy officer for the Child Care Resource Center. The discussion centered on the profound impact that accessible and affordable child care has on entrepreneurial success, and the speakers called on attendees to advocate for policies at all government levels that ensure access to affordable child care and robust support for providers.
