UNITE-LA signed on to the CA for U.S. Coalition statement, joining other influential business, labor, faith and philanthropy leaders who came together to condemn the ongoing ICE raids and to call for meaningful immigration reform.

The letter cites Bay Area Council Economic Institute’s research that found that California’s undocumented workers contribute significantly to the economy, generating nearly nine percent of California’s annual GDP—$230 billion each year—and contributing more than $23 billion in local, state and federal taxes annually. Similarly, UNITE-LA's newly released report, "Business Perspectives on Immigrant Talent & Economic Growth," also shows immigrants are essential to solving today’s workforce challenges, fueling innovation and sustaining economic growth.
