Last month, UNITE-LA hosted a dynamic Education Means Business webinar, “Shaping the Future: How the New Administration Will Impact Education and Workforce Development.” The webinar included an incredible group of thought leaders discussing what the future holds for students, families and communities as we all navigate the opportunities and challenges ahead, together.
UNITE-LA Board Chair and CEO of the Center for Nonprofit Management, Efrain Escobedo, moderated the event, which included:
- Stephen Cheung, President and CEO of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) and its subsidiary, World Trade Center Los Angeles, and UNITE-LA board member;
- Dr. Linda Darling-Hammond, President and CEO, The Learning Policy Institute;
- Dr. Karla Estrada, Deputy Superintendent of Instruction, LAUSD;
- Dr. Manuel Pastor, USC Director of Dornsife Equity Research Institute and former UNITE-LA board member;
- Angelica Salas, Executive Director, Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, Los Angeles (CHIRLA), and UNITE-LA Board Secretary; and
- Miguel Santana, President and CEO, California Community Foundation.
