In March, UNITE-LA partner, the National Association of Women Business Owners - Los Angeles (NAWBO-LA), hosted the Future is Female to honor some of L.A.’s women leaders.
UNITE-LA’s Sonia Campos-Rivera, senior vice president, Education Policy and Public Affairs, and UNITE-LA board member, Denita Willoughby, participated in the NAWBO-LA event, and heard ways to ensure women continue to lead and strengthen our region’s economy while also building opportunities for young girls/women leaders.
This comes after UNITE-LA’s Policy Team has worked closely with the NAWBO-LA Advocacy Committee to formulate their 2023 Policy Priorities to uplift women business owners and women in the workforce, including areas such as increased access to capital; increased financial investments to support small business owners offering Paid Family Leave; and equitable broadband access.
