UNITE-LA is proud to collaborate with the CSU Long Beach team in a number of ways, including through our early care and education work at Educare, our regional K-16 Collaborative work, and in our service on the Five-Year Strategic Planning Ad-Hoc Committee of the City of Los Angeles’ Workforce Development Board.
Recently, CSU Long Beach agreed to partner with UNITE-LA, LAEDC, Orange County Business Council and Orange County Department of Education to co-host our region’s Master Plan for Career Education convening with the Office of California Gov. Newsom. In addition to opening up a beautiful venue on campus to 150 attendees, including leaders in education, workforce development, government and other community partners, CSU Long Beach also served as title sponsor for the event. Thanks to the generous support of CSU Long Beach, the event was a resounding success, as partners reflected on the state of education and career pathways and made recommendations to include in the Governor’s Master Plan, which aims to improve the way systems work together across California to prepare students and adults for high-paying careers and reduce employment barriers for state economically relevant jobs.
UNITE-LA extends our deepest gratitude to our valued partners for their unwavering commitment to passionately championing the cause of opportunity youth and tirelessly advocating for their needs. Through their steadfast advocacy, UNITE-LA is empowered to create lasting positive change and foster inclusive growth.
