We want to call your attention to the launch of the first LA DEAL monthly newsletter. LA DEAL (Los Angeles Digital Equity Action League) is the Regional Broadband Consortium of which UNITE-LA is co-convener with the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC). The first issue of the newsletter contains information that will help you get up-to-speed on digital equity issues in L.A., California and across the country. We have been working with LAUSD, LACCD, the County of L.A., the City of L.A., COGs and other regional collaboratives to identify and prepare areas that need broadband infrastructure. This summer and fall, we will be busy supporting the different areas in seeking public funding to deploy that needed infrastructure. We have also been heavily involved in public policy and advocacy around digital equity state bills and the implementation of state and local public dollars since last October.
