UNITE-LA Today: ACCESS D.C.

UNITE-LA participated in the L.A. Area Chamber’s 2024 ACCESS D.C. trip, which also consisted of an advocacy day specifically for the Valley Industry Commerce Association (VICA), as well as one for UNITE-LA and our early education partners.

The VICA team started its advocacy day meeting with Congressman Brad Sherman, followed by Congressman Tony Cárdenas, and legislative staff for Congressman Mike Garcia and Congresswoman Julia Brownley. UNITE-LA also joined L.A. Area Chamber specific meetings with Congressman Adam Schiff, John Garcia from the U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The final day of the advocacy trip was led by UNITE-LA with an advocacy team consisting of members from LAUSD, First 5 LA, Child Care Resource Center, and EveryChild CA who met with the Offices of Senator Laphonza Butler, Congressman Robert Garcia, Congressman Jimmy Gomez and Congresswoman Nanette Barragán.
