As co-convener of the Opportunity Youth Collaborative (OYC), UNITE-LA is driving the Horizons 32K roadmap to reduce youth disconnection by 32,000 by 2028. This fall, two impact initiatives—High School Transitions and Earn and Learn—brought cross-sector partners together to strengthen transitions and expand equitable health care pathways.
The High School Transitions initiative unites LAUSD, LACCD, LACOE and others to improve outcomes for alternative education students, who graduate and enroll in college at far lower rates. Partners are developing collaborative strategies to launch by February 2026. Supported by the Hilton Foundation, Earn and Learn—launched with state and workforce partners—advances health care career pathways for opportunity youth through three pilot sites, including UNITE-LA’s My Pathway to Health program with Providence Health.
