UNITE-LA Today: Championing Early Education in Sacramento

Last fall, UNITE-LA President Alysia Bell attended an East Coast early education tour hosted by Early Edge California with various CA early education advocates, funders and elected officials.

Participants of the tour reconvened last month in Sacramento to discuss legislative opportunities to improve CA’s early education system. President Bell and colleague, Sonia Campos-Rivera, UNITE-LA Senior Vice President of Education Policy & Public Affairs, connected with Assemblymember Muratsuchi, Chair of the Assembly Education Committee, Assemblymember Luz Rivas (author of critical early education and Dual Language Learner education legislation) and Assemblymember Reyes, early education champion. The Policy Team expects to have a strong presence in Sacramento to advocate for critical cradle-through-career investments during this challenging economic climate.
