Assemblymember Patrick O'Donnell visited Educare Los Angeles at Long Beach on Thursday, Oct. 21, for the first time since participating in the groundbreaking ceremony more than five years ago. Assemblymember O'Donnell has more than 20 years of classroom experience as a teacher to enhance his role as Chair of the Assembly Education Committee, advocating for K-12 schools. The goal of the Educare tour was to showcase high-quality early childhood education and its alignment to helping close the achievement gap before students start kindergarten. Attendees included representation from Long Beach Unified School District leadership, Head Start leadership, the LBUSD Board of Education, Long Beach Mayor’s Fund for Education and UNITE-LA.
