Last month, UNITE-LA’s Tech Pathways Academy, powered by Microsoft, launched with 32 high school students from across L.A. County.
During the academy, students are engaging with tech professionals from diverse tech sectors via an 8.5 week, afterschool, virtual, work-based learning program focused on AI, cybersecurity, product management and software development. Students will be empowered to complete industry-validated certificates through LinkedIn Learning in generative AI, product management and software development, while also completing WorkforceReady to prepare for employment. Additionally, students are securing college credit with Los Angeles Trade-Technical College for completing the program. The program is supported by industry leaders from Microsoft and STEM Coalition, and partnerships with the L.A. Air Force Base, WePay, Snap Inc., NAWBO-LA and CalCyber Alliance.
