UNITE-LA supported the R.E.A.L. Education and Workforce Development Committee meeting last month, which featured Childcare Resource Center (CCRC), whose President & CEO, Michael Olenick, sits on the UNITE-LA board.

CCRC's Donna Sneeringer and Becca Patton provided the committee with an overview of the current Early Care and Education landscape, implications of the $2 billion California budget investments to increase child care slots, and legislation for the committee's consideration, AB1930 (Reyes), which would allow child care teachers who hold an associate teacher permit to stay beyond the current 10-year limitation. The REAL EDWD Committee is led by Luis Portillo, President & CEO, San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership, and Vice Chair Stephen Baiter, Executive Director, East Bay Economic Development Alliance.
