UNITE-LA is proud to say that our co-sponsored bill, SB 951 (Durazo), that would increase wage replacement during Paid Family Leave from 60 to 90 percent for workers in lower-wage jobs, made it to Gov. Newsom's desk. This legislation gives California the opportunity to lead on a critical women's equity issue that was left out of the Federal Inflation Reduction Act. The bill is currently on Gov. Newsom's desk awaiting a signature or veto.
