Step into Tech participants are nearing the end of their six-week program. They have completed introductory courses for areas including networking, LinkedIn, financial empowerment and cybersecurity. They have all been excited about having the opportunity to learn about different career pathways in tech through meaningful conversations and engagement with tech professionals, as well as hands-on experience through courses on the Cisco Networking Academy. Cisco has been a dynamic partner throughout the process, ensuring participants were trained on the platform, knowledgeable about the courses and certifications offered, sharing and connecting participants with job opportunities and helping to secure speakers.
Speaking of Step into Tech...Volunteers Needed!
UNITE-LA is currently recruiting professionals (tech background NOT required) to volunteer for Step into Tech, a virtual, work-based learning program created to connect systems-involved individuals, 18-35, to high-growth, high-demand careers and training opportunities in technology and entrepreneurship. The fall cohort will be a six-week program launching Tuesday, Oct. 10, and meets on Zoom Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-11:30 a.m., although most volunteer commitment times run about 30-60 minutes.
Have a passion to make an impact? Are you someone who is tech-focused and would like to share your knowledge with our dynamic participants? Please complete the Step into Tech Volunteer Form, and we will follow up with details!
