UNITE-LA STATEMENT ON THE FUTURE OF THE CALIFORNIA DREAM ACT

UNITE-LA would like to highlight The California Wellness Foundation for its generous grant supporting our efforts to forge a coordinated, aligned and visible message on the vital importance of immigration to California’s workforce and the well-being of our communities.

From Oct. 21-23, UNITE-LA joined the American Business Immigration Coalition (ABIC) for the Secure America’s Workforce Fly-In in Washington, D.C., where nearly 200 employers from agriculture, hospitality, health care, construction and education sectors from across the nation came together to advocate for bipartisan immigration solutions.

UNITE-LA had the privilege of being invited to testify at the Select Committee on Child Care Costs hearing in October.

Recently, UNITE-LA President, Alysia Bell, and the UNITE-LA Cleantech Academy team had the privilege of hosting the executive engineering team from UPS at the UNITE-LA office to explore and formalize an exciting new partnership with the LA Regional Cleantech Career Academy.

At UNITE-LA, we are proud to support individuals as they take meaningful steps toward brighter futures. One of our My Pathway to Health alum, who earned her EKG certification in 2024, is a shining example of perseverance and transformation.

UNITE-LA hosted its final Health Sector Collaborative of 2025, convening 20 health care employers, educators and workforce leaders to explore promising practices in health care career pathways.

Last month, UNITE-LA's Liliana Aide Monge, director, Digital Equity, along with Joel Martin, community broadband manager, Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC), collaborated with Pacoima Beautiful's executive director, Veronica Padilla, and Roxy Rivas, deputy director of Capital Projects and Planning, to launch a Pacoima Broadband Taskforce that will complete a comprehensive broadband needs assessment and report for the San Fernando area.
