UPDATED: UNITE-LA CONDEMNS ICE RAIDS AND URGES FEDERAL AUTHORITIES TO PROTECT IMMIGRANT FAMILIES

UNITE-LA attended the Metropolitan Water District’s (MWD) inaugural summit, a landmark event focused on the role of education, technology and cross-sector partnerships in shaping an inclusive and future-ready workforce.

Last month, at the National Skills Summit, the National Skills Coalition honored Dave Stone, advocacy officer at the United Way of Central Iowa (UWCI), with the Dr. Alma Salazar Bridge Builder Award at their annual Skills Summit in Washington, D.C.

The Los Angeles Digital Equity Action League (LA DEAL), in partnership with Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) and the Digital Equity LA (DELA) Coalition, held a Community Broadband Workgroup on May 9 to plan a free pilot broadband network serving approximately 250 residents and workers near the Coalition for Human Immigration Rights Los Angeles’ (CHIRLA) headquarters in Pico Union.

Last month, UNITE-LA attended the National Skills Coalition’s (NSC) Skills Summit, NSC’s largest event of the year that brings together workforce and business advocates from across the country to Washington, D.C.

On April 30, UNITE-LA President, Alysia Bell, and staff members traveled to the state Capitol for a day of meetings with legislative staff and state agency partners.
